Hello Jack,
All day long I've been checking the blog waiting for an update, now I don't know what to say except you are truly an inspiration to us all. You've had nearly three weeks to put your current realty in line with a vision and I'm sure in your mind all steps to get there are layed out one by one. Remember it takes a village to raise a child and it also takes a committee to make a vision a realty. So Jack assemble your committee and let us know what you want or need and we'll get it done for you. Love, Hugs and Kisses to you, Karen and HKM

Rest assured you don't walk alone and our faithful Lord is with you along with hundreds and hundreds of your friends. God bless!

With much love,
Richard, Sherri, Ryan, Amy and Paige Hawkins

Jack, you are truly something...what a guy! I know you're working harder than you ever have in your life. You've had wonderful guidance on this earth and surely from above. God did't cause your stroke, but he gave you all you need to turn it around. Aren't you glad you accepted his gift of grace? We sure are. You fill our hearts with inspiration. Love, Aunt Linda

Good morning Jack...

Boy, the great news keeps on coming! God is really great! How can anyone watching your progress deny the power of God in a person's life? Or the power of focused prayer by so many? My wife and I will continue to pray for the type of peace, comfort and strength that only God can provide, as you continue your recovery. We will see you the first of the week... we have another wedding this weekend.

Your friend,

Rob

Dearest Mr. Jack Hawkins, Karen and family,

We Praise God for this miracle before our eyes! We thank God for the strength and courage that Jack shows us all to walk through this valley for HIM and HIS Glory. For HIS plans are not always our plans, and through this Jack continues to lead people to Christ! We continue to pray for strength, courage and a full recovery as do all the many believers across this nation and world. For you may never know the many lives you've touched through this journey until we all meet on the other side! Praise be to God! And thank you for all you do!The gradutaion program with the High School photo is just a small reminder of the many ways you give and serve, thank you for this gift.
Blessings to you and your beautiful family~
In Christ Jesus,
The Hennesseys

Hi Mr. Hawkins, I was very sad when my dad told me that you were very sick. You are a very very nice man and its not fair that you are sick. I wish I could take your sicknas away but I know I cant. Me and my dad are praying every day for you and my dad says its working cause you are getting better. I'm happy about that. When you get better and you can come home from the doctors, maybe you can give me another ride in your helicopetr that was so much fun.

I will still be praying for you, keep on getting better.

Dear Jack, Knew you had some contact with the celebrity crowd but didn't know you had the rehab problem too. Just kidding. Although the way we use to drive cars its probably amazing we weren't recovering from something before now. Do you remember driving down the canal road in the orange groves and seeing how close I could get to the edge? I think you were with me. Maybe best not to tell your Dad. He probably still has some respect for me. Karen may have been with us too. Wish I had a picture of you the time I believe I saw you cleaning door jams at a construction site (Riverside Community Hospital) during the summer working for your Dad. You've "come along way baby". The only time I've been golfing was with you for a hole or two behind your parents house in Canyon Crest. As I recall more went into the street or peoples' backyards. Oh, this was a fun one. We use to go through that old storm drain not too far from Diffenbaughs old office. It ended up across or in the middle of the freeway. I have to confess I use to think we were going to trip over a dead body in there we couldn't see. Well enough reminiscing for now. I talked to Jenean again last week and was happy to hear about your prognosis. Keep up the good work. She said you enjoyed the stories so if I can keep thinking of them I'll try and write. Wish I could be there to see you confirm or deny them. Either by this site or my personal knowledge you have a great family. Your friend Terry P.S. 3rd grandchild due today. Get going.

Hey Jack and Karen,
It was so great to see and chat with both of you Friday morning. It looks like you're in good hands at St. Jude's rehab center...the staff seem really nice and the workouts look like something all of us would be well to endure half as much as you have to. Jack, you just radiate an optimism and a strength not many of us are capable of, even under the best of circumstances...and nothing shows that more than your irrepressible sense of humor and the undeniable warmth of your infectious smile. We went on about our errands that morning absolutely uplifted by your obvious progress and indomitable spirit. Thank you both for being such a part of our lives. We know you'll continue to make incredible progress and want you to know that you're in our thoughts and prayers constantly.
Yours,
George and Mary Ann

Jack,
I just wanted you to know that since my dad (Jerry Engle) told me of your stroke, the prayer warriors of my church here in Ohio and those of my cousin Amy's in Dalton Georgia have been hard at work praying for your recovery. Now that I know of this blog, it will be great to "tune in" and hear of your progress. God has truly heard our prayers. We will continue to pray for a rapid recovery.
Also, Thank you for being a truly great employer and friend to my Dad.
John Engle

Hello Jack,
Just want to say how much I miss seeing you at the office. I've asked Judy to keep your door open just to give us the feeling that your in there. Also, any time someone pulls into your parking spot they get that evil eye from some of us that they don't belong there and they move just as quickly as they pulled in. I sure hope your cold is going away and that you are feeling better with each day. I'll be down some time next week if your able to have visitors. Miss you, Jane

Hello there Jack and Karen!
I've never dealt with a blog before and was very apprehensive. How silly!
You're in Rehab! and you're talking! How absolutely fantastic! Sean, Daniel and I are so thrilled! We've been praying for you like crazy - and as so many others we've enlisted a 'few' friends - many, many here in Denver - many in Germany, Italy, Autria and France - some in Asia; not all of them Christian but they are all praying in their own different ways (not sure how this atheist friend of mine is doing it - but I'm sure his heart is in the right place!:)
Jack, there are undoubtably many lessons we are all supposed to be learning from you and from this ordeal you and your family are going through and I'm trying to listen. There are the deep life lessons of love and faith, of believing, of sharing one's life, of giving and receiving; and then there are the smaller ones:
When I asked Sean (16) what some of them might be he smirked and said "that you should have been more persistent and made sure Jack actually came over for dinner when he was in Denver" or Daniel (18) who warned of ordering fast food burritos... and of course I'm learning my way around a 'blog'!
I'll be 'playing' with Rob and the gang later this month and hope I might be allowed to come and visit!
Much love,
Alex, Daniel and Sean

Hi Jack,

Wow! What great news. I am so excited for you. Jerry Engle said you are speaking your words so clearly. Your recovery is truly a miracle. Patti and I are going to see you next week when you are over your cold. You are really lucky to have Karen, Heather, Katie, and Matthew by your side. Their love, loyalty, and commitment to you has had to play a huge part in your amazing recovery. I love you all so much!

Hello there Jack! I've had a few phone calls from Mom and friends in Riverside about your ongoing visits to all of the great medical establishments in Southern Cal. Dude... If you need a vacation head on up to Seattle and we'll go Salmon fishing! I have read the blogs with great interest and am glad to hear you are on the mend. We went through this process with the Senior Pastor of our church and watched as he improved in all aspects over the weeks and months of his rehab. He made it all the way back to the pulpit for the last few years and seems to be doing just fine. We just had a wedding in the family as my 24 yr old daughter, Kara, married the love of her life from Brisbane, Australia! We had every Gillette that I am related to in this world here for the celebration and for a reunion at my home the next day. That includes our "NEW" sister that we discovered through some family history and a miraculous set of circumstances... and she and her daughter even made it out to Seattle from Colorado to attend the wedding and the reunion. Wasn't it just yesterday we had the MG and the Spitfire drifting sideways over the dam out at Lake Mathews? Where have the years gone.....? I'm still 18 in side but can't always deal with whats happened on the outside! You heal up and get back in the game. I'd like to hear from you and what all has transpired these last.... oh..... 30 years!

Good morning Jack
Last night we were at a function at the Mission Inn with about 130 friends and family of Steve Matich celebrating his 50th birthday. Once word got out that someone was there who worked for you, I was asked questions all night long about how your doing. The concern that others had for you was overwhelming I gave out your blog site over fifty times, I should have just printed cards ahead of time to hand out at the door. Everyone wants you to know that you are thought of daily and prayed for as often. Of course they wanted to know what kind of party I have planned for you upon your return and I told them if you thought our open house was large you just wait and see....... Love to you and Karen, HKM - see you soon. Jane
