Jack's Update

This blog is designed to help all of us stay up to date on Jack's condition and communicate with his family and many, many, many friends. Karen has stated that she told Jack about this blog and that he appeared to brighten up. Karen plans on reading some of our messages from this blog to Jack. This is an excellent way that you can get a message directly to the family and Jack. Please feel free to write any of the following;

  • Notes to Jack, Karen, Heather, Katie or Matthew

  • Prayers

  • Notes to Jack's Friends

  • Anything you feel would be appropriate....

Please let us know anything that you would like to be added to this blog for Jack and his family.

Jack, We were so sorry to hear about your stroke and the challenges you and your family are facing. Knowing you though, I'm sure you'll find a way to persevere and do better each day.

I was just thinking about you the other day when I was discussing the airport with a friend and thought about all of the great conversations you and I shared about development there. Your genius for development and organization is unmatched and I'm certain that things will improve for you.

If at some time you feel you can get away for some quiet relaxation and rehabilitative time, please consider coming to Anacortes, WA and spending some time in our home overlooking Puget Sound. We have the perfect guest accomodations and we'd enjoy your company as you get better.

I could never get used to the stroke thing. Perhaps a fake headache, occasional deafness, lapse of memory or anything subtle to get out of those "honey dos." I'd say that having a stroke just might have taken matters a bit too far, don't you think. Maybe next time we should talk...er, strategize...to figure out a more convenient and affordable means by which we, as grown men, can get a few days rest. I'm with you bro, but of more than 5000 known diagnoses you sure picked a doozy...when a mere sniffle might have got you your bedroom slippies, bathrobe, best chair in front of the TV and a weekend off.

Get well soon big guy...and please know we are praying for you many times throughout each and every day.

With much love from our entire family!

Dear Hawkins Family,

We know of your family like so many other people do in Riverside, from church, a friend of a friend, a little bit or a lot of business. Your reputation as a God fearing, kind, caring and generous people follows your family name all over town and beyond.

Jack, you still have more work to be done in continuing your family's legacy not just for your wife and children but in your business and in the community! You and your family are a shining light for our LORD.

Jack, We wish you GOD SPEED as you do your part to recover.

Steve and Robin Bailey

And so we will continue to pray:

Dear Lord in heaven,

What a blessing it is to be able to call you LORD of our lives! What a blessing it is to know that as Jack's LORD YOU are more concerned right now about Jack than the closest of his loved ones! (That is caring beyond our understanding.)

I pray Dear LORD that YOU will bring Jack healing in every part of his body, big and small, that YOU will restore him fully and completely!!

I pray Dear LORD that YOU will give Karen a "peace that passes all understanding" so that she can get the rest and strength she needs to take care of Jack and the children. I pray Dear LORD that the children will have peace that GOD is in complete control and able to do ALL things big and small. There is no miracle that God cannot handle, no job to big and no request to small.

I pray Dear LORD for the rest of the Hawkins family, for Jack Sr. and all the other family members that are so very concerned about Jack, Jr. I pray LORD that YOU will give them peace and strength to love and support each other through this rough patch in life's road.

I thank YOU and praise YOU LORD for hearing our prayers and never being to busy to care about each and every little detail of each of one of our lives.

Thank you LORD in advance for Jack's miraculous healing and recovery!!!! We will be careful to give YOU ALL the GLORY!!!

In the name of JESUS CHRIST our LORD and SAVIOR, Amen

Jack, Karen, Matt, Heather and Katie: We pray continually as each day brings new challenges that you sense Christ's presence strongly, holding you in His strong arms. We weep with you and look forward to the day we rejoice as we see God working out His perfect plan. fondly, the Van Daeles

Just focus on getting your butt back in that pilot's seat and taking hold of the controls of your life again.

You know you have the best co-pilot sitting right next to you....so put the weight on him right now to pull you thru this slight course adjustment.

Just rely on him to guide you. Your friends will all be here for you and your family when you land.

Hawkins Family;

Someone shared this with me today - so I wanted to share this with the Hawkins Family.

GOD WANTED ME TO TELL YOU...

Everything that you think is going wrong in your life today shall be
well with you this year.

You have been destined to make it and you shall surely achieve all your goals this year.

For the remaining months of this year (2007), all your agonies will be diverted and victory and prosperity will be incoming in abundance.

Today God has confirmed the end of your sufferings, sorrows, and pains
because HE that sits on the throne has remembered you. He has taken away the hardships and given you JOY. He will never let you down.

I knocked at heaven's door this morning and God asked me... 'My child!

What can I do for you?'

And I said, "Father, please protect and bless the person reading this message"...

God smiled and answered... 'Request granted'.

Hi Jack,
Harold and I are so glad to read each report about you and to know how well you are doing! Keep up the good work. We have wanted to come see you but I suffered a severe muscle strain and sprain to my cervical area of my back about 15 minutes after school was out on my last day of teaching for this year. So, Harold has had his hands full for a month or so taking care of me and doing all household chores and working too. I've been going to physical therapy three times every week and I'm finally much better. Hopefully we will get to come visit someday.

So, here is my joke for you.

How can you tell Ronald MacDonald in a nudist colony?
He's the only one with sesame seed buns! Ha Ha Ha.

Our best to your whole family and we hope Katie and Karen are recovering from their illnesses.

Harold and I pray for you daily and send our good wishes to you.
Love, Kay Lynn and Harold
