Monday - June 18th - Update

* Movement - Jack is moving his mouth trying to form words. He is able to move his tongue, and make facial expressions. He has increased movement on his left side, can touch his face with his left hand. All of these motions are increasing each day.

* Personality - As we stated in a recent blog, JACK is BACK. He is joking around and making people laugh.

It is unknown when he will be moving to rehab but it looks like in the near future. The Doctor's do not want to release him from ICU too soon.

Karen, Heather, Katie, Matthew and Michael (Katie's boyfriend) are getting more rest and doing well. They continue to appreciate all of the writings to the blog, especially the jokes and funny stories. So keep 'em coming, along with your prayers!!!!

Jack, Glad to hear your improving. Wish I lived closer to come visit. I hope you don't have to explain too much to your kids about the previous college stories. Ok, yes I do. Thats at least one time kids seem to perk up and listen. They like to hear about the antics. How about the time we pulled up the nudist colony road with a bunch of us in my van and couldn't turn around without going through the gate and having Jenean squealing as we were trying to turn around as quick as we could. Or the time we put my basset hound in a box and tied it to a parachute in the wind. Don't worry everybody, dog was not hurt. Of course the highlight of your banjo playing career was playing with me (a rank player) at my grandparents trailer park recreation hall. By the way, you need to start talking soon. I don't think you ever thanked me for telling you to marry that girl or let her go. (Karen of course). Well Jack, being older than you I'm getting too old to remember too much at one time. (At this time you probably wish I would remember less). Thanks for the good times. Hope to see you soon and up and around. Terry P.S. Maybe we can cruise Magnolia again sometime. Only for nostaglia of course. 2nd thought, Spitfires might not make it from one end to the other.

Hi Jack,

I wanted to let you know that your friends at Community Bank are in prayer for you and your recovery. God is an awesome God. We are so pleased to hear of your improvement. Just think this was a way to get Matt his practice driving hours going to and from USC. What a dad. Justin passed his test and so is on the road solo. The company continues to exemplify all that you have built into the culture, strength, endurance, and professionalism. Take Care and God Bless

Hey, Jack --

I am glad to hear that you are getting "moving" again, literally. I am counting on some helo time, as we did at Rancho Community when the opening was near.

I know that view of Catalina's Airport in the Sky ... that too, would be a great place to catch lunch...love those buffalo burgers.

Keep getting better... the FAA does not take kindly to pilots who don't answer those Controller call-ups!!

You're in our prayers,
Mel & Mary Ann Malkoff

Hey Jack and Karen,
I am so happy to hear of the improvements. God IS at work. Please know that Paul's call to pray continually is truly what I have been doing. The Lord brings you to mind constantly and I pray. I pray for steady, continual healing. I also pray for rest for you, Karen. I know how the days at the hospital roll by and you forget what day it is. I know you have many there to help support, but if you need ANYTHING please let me know. I'll even feed the dog or cat. Remember to eat and sleep ok.
Love you all,
Laurie

Jack-

We are so glad to read about your continued improvement, and have you in our prayers for complete restoration. We have recalled with fond memories all of our escapades with Constant Construction - and can hardly imagine you without a banjo in your hands! Reggie is glad to know that the bet you won all those years ago for flying lessons has paid off for you in a big way-Hurry back into the cockpit-

Dearest Jackie, Okay I know you are "Jack" now and have been for some time but, you will always be Jackie, Jenean's little brother to my family and I. I couldn't believe the news when Jenean called to tell me about your situation. Not you! You had grown to be such a wonderful husband, father, man and friend to so many that it was hard to believe what exactly had happened. It is with so much respect that I read the wonderful stories from your friends, co-workers and family of the man you have become. God is working miracles with you everyday and my heart is uplifted and delighted to hear of your ongoing progress. My mother Lola, wants you to know that you are in her prayers, as well as ours, and that she has all the seniors at her residence praying for you as well. I am so greatful for all the good times we shared while growing up and going to church in Colton and look forward to many, many more in the future. You stay strong, keep up that wonderful will of yours and you'll be back before you know it. I want to share a funny story with your family and friends from when you were little and came for a visit to our house with your Mom, Dad and Jenean. The adults were visiting in the living room, Jenean and I were listening to records in my room and you must have been bored out of your mind, because, you went in and sat at the kitchen table and peeled all of the bananas in the fruit bowl. We laughed and laughed over that for some time. You get well and you can peel all of the bananas you want! Much love "Jack" to you and your beautiful family. Debbie Jones (Swaithes) and Family

Jack,

I was just sitting here at my desk working as I normally do. Having just returned from next door, I started thinking about you.

My prayers and those of my wife, my family and everyone are constant... many times each day.

I know that everyone has reassured you that the companies are running fine. This is true... have no worries. We all continue to work closely as a team. But Jack, make no mistake... the qualities that you bring to the table are vital to us and they are missed. You have always downplayed who and what you are. This is due to your humble nature and your knowledge of the role that Christ has played in that... no doubt.

I just wanted to remind you that God made you with very special qualities. These are talents, abilities and character that go beyond those that people learn from their parents, school or otherwise. They are yours and yours alone... and we miss them. We look forward to your return when you are ready.

God Bless you, Karen and your entire family. I hope to see you soon.

Your friend,

Rob Fazio

Dear Jackie,
I can't tell you how good it was to get to spend that bit of time with you on Saturday! We always seem to be able to laugh at all of our shenanigans from days gone by. Karen, I'm glad you were able to get some rest that day, I missed your sweet face though. Your kiddos are amazing, you should be very proud of them!!!!
All of our love and prayers for each one of you!
A phrase from a sond that has meant lots to me is "for this we have Jesus" ! Hold on!

Jack, Remember the time we drove to Northern California from Riverside. It was fun but got a little spooky when the windshield on your Firebird started vibrating at 100 on the back side of the Sierras. Maybe the roads were just worse in the 70's. We're really not that old but I don't think we could walk into the field at Candlestick park and lay on the turf without being questioned again. I'll bet its been a long time since you and Karen helped somebody pull off 2 dates with 2 different girls in one night. I still can't believe Karen didn't spill the beans. Hows that for an old term. Would still like to see you and your dad come up for Kool April Nites with his car some year. Keep getting better so I don't have keep writing and can talk to you. Just kidding about the writing. Its been fun remembering. Stay with the good progress and of course we're still praying. Terry

Hi Jack,
Hey, I thought we both agreed R44's are better than those old C model 500's. Get yourself better so you can fix the helicopter photo on the blog page to the R44 that it should be!

Geeeez, I thought I had taught you about helicopters, but I guess I'll just figure it as a necessity of your speedy recovery so we can change the picture!

As always....still thinking and praying for you to be flying with me again soon my friend.

Leo

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!
