"It's a Miracle" says Doctors

Miracle in Progess

"We have never seen a person suffer a stroke like Jack's and improve as much as he has in only 3 weeks," stated Doctor's from USC University Hopital.

"Last night you were prayed for at the graduation ceremony. I noticed several seniors had notes on their mortar boards praying for you. It shows how many people you have touched. Of course we ran into friends and the first thing they ask is about you. Everyone wants to see your recovery. I want to witness a miracle. It is what I pray for through out the day."
-Randy Thompson

*Movement:
  • Jack is sitting up

  • He can hold his head up

  • More facial expressions

*Communication:

  • Never ceases to amaze everyone on how well he is communicating. (Note - Will soon be entering the over 50 spelling bee contest, held in Nashville, Tennesse.)

Nurses Report

Jack is their favorite patient because of his positive attitude and effort in everything he does. They are just beginning to realize and appreciate the person we all know and love. It's great to know he is in such wonderful care!

Hello Jack & Karen,

It sounds like Jack continues to be a great witness to God through Christ Jesus. I am praying for you both. I still remember Jack's lightheartedness and smile even though we have not seen each other in over 20 years. Karen, I still remember your kindness. I would encourage you to be strong, but it sounds like you both are already doing that. Be blessed in this trying time and continue to call on His unending strength.
In the Love of Jesus,
gary

Hi Jack,
You know, coming from a policeman, for me to say "hi Jack" is an interesting opening statement to say the least!

Anyway, it is GREAT to hear that you continue to improve and strive as always to overwhealm all of us with your amazing ability to rise to the top! I continue my admiration for you, and Raquel and I keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers each day.

Keep going strong my friend, and we will all see you soon.

Hi Jack,

We sure miss you here at the office. Our thoughts and prayers are with you continuously. I was going to stop by today to see you, but since work is so busy, figured you would prefer I get my work done and so I will stop by to see you on Saturday. I can't wait to see you smiling! See you tomorrow.

Hello Jack,

It's getting late on Friday afternoon and about the time I might be calling you to fill you in on the latest events. Since I'm limited with space here, I'll keep it short and simply say that we are on course and all is well... except that we all miss you and the support and enthusiasm that you provide.

Karin, our new estimator, will be starting on July 16th. She has asked how you're doing. You made quite an impression on her in your brief conversation when she was here. I'm sure this played a large part in her decision to join ICC.

I can't help but wish that we could find the caged varmit that you often used to initiate new hires and other unsuspecting victims. I can still remember hearing Jim Putman scream like a schoolgirl (Sorry Jim if you're reading this). We'll have to create a new one at some point after your return.

Your progress, faith and spirit continue to inspire all of us as we read the updates. I hope to see you soon Jack.

I pray each morning for you to feel the comfort, peace and strength that only our Lord through the Holy Spirit can provide.

Your friend,

Rob

If anyone needs a day brightener, just come read Jack Hawkin's blog. It always puts a smile on my face and praise in my heart that God is still working miracles.

Our prayers are still going your way. Keep up the good work.

God Speed.

Hi Jack:
What do you get when you cross holy water and castor oil?
A religious movement!
We are so glad you are doing well, Jack. Although I did hear that you have lost your sense of humor. Hope fully you'll regain it soon.
Alex and I were at Krusinski Construction in Chicago, they all send you their regards and best wishes. We had a good session.
I trust you are keeping the faith and working Vision 2007. Shilpi was wondering when she could get another helicopter ride from you?
JDD and ICC seem to be running very well. I think you should be really proud of your management team, they have really stepped up!
Keep up the good work, Jack!
Love
Kumar

Jack,

I am so glad to hear of your continuing progress. My prayers are for your complete recovery and for your family to hang in there during this difficult time.

Hopefully you remember me. I'm John Beeble's assistant (Saunders Construction, Centennial, CO). We are thinking of you and praying for you as you move forward with your rehab. It's hard work but as you know it's worth every minute of it. It works - I know it does from personal experience.

My sister and her family have lived in Riverside since the 1960's. I visited them many times over the years. It's a great place! Maybe I'll get to visit again soon and I'll make sure I let you and Judy know. Judy has kept us up to date on your progress. If fact, we talked yesterday. She feels about her job and working for you the way I feel about my job. We both have the best jobs and the best Bosses and God really gave us a wonderful gift when we started working at our respective jobs.
